Public call in Serbia

Young Artists Development Residency Programme is a unique program because it not only offers a three-month residency for young artists from the region in Paris, but also a mentoring programme that implies that young artists will develop their skills in cooperation with experienced and renowned European artists, it was said at the presentation of the Programme attended by young artists from Serbia.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute has published a call for applications within the Artists Development Residency programme (ADP) for the year 2023, in cooperation with the Cite internationale des arts (Paris), for artists under 35 years old from the candidate countries for the EU membership.

The European Union has been supporting and investing in the development of the creative industry in Serbia for years, and the EIB Programme is an excellent opportunity for young artists to develop professionally.

“Paris is a city that has inspired countless artists from different parts of the world and is considered a symbol of creativity and the home of the artistic community. This programme involves the creation of artistic and creative threads that connect us and make us Europeans. Art builds bridges, makes us grow and learn from our own differences, thus creating space for true creativity”, said Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Plamena Halacheva.

The Head of EIB Regional Representation for Western Balkans Alessandro Bragonzzi stated that this is the first time that the invitation has been opened to candidate countries for EU membership and that it is a continuation of long-standing support for the sectors of culture, education and scientific research in Serbia, with investments exceeding EUR 415 million.

“We proudly support a cultural programme and initiative that encourages human development, art and creativity, which are a reflection of the social and intellectual progress of each country. Young and talented people are the leading force behind that process and it is a pleasure to support social, cultural, artistic and innovative potentials”, said Bragonzzi.

Artists Development Residency programme was launched by the Institute of the European Investment Bank, and the Head of Arts and Culture at the EIB Institute Delphine Munro introduced local artists to the opportunities that the programme offers.

Applications are sent via an online form.

Cultural heritage protection and promotion, as well as support for creative industries, are an integral part of the EU’s mission in Serbia. The EU recognises the importance that the Serbian cultural heritage has for Europe and the world, and, so far, more than EUR 173.7 million have been invested in the creative industry.
